About this page

Seeing it clearly.

Chapter 9 walks through Wequassett Resort and Golf Club and shows exactly how each of the five pillars played out in the recent relaunch of this iconic Cape Cod resort. The visuals on this page are the companion assets to that chapter.

Whether you’re reading along with the book or discovering LotusIQ for the first time, these assets illustrate a core premise: when every pillar is built in the right sequence, the results aren’t just visible, they’re measurable.

LotusIQ Hotel Marketing Framework

Foundation

From locally known, to distinctly memorable.

Wequassett had clear business goals and strong leadership alignment. What it needed first was a brand foundation that defined it’s identity. An ownable position that every decision, message, and creative execution could be rooted in.

positioning tone of voice

Alignment

Creating clarity to define not just who to target but where to find them.

Audiences were understood in theory — but not clearly defined or documented. The Alignment work translated business goals into specific guest profiles, giving every team member a shared language for who they were targeting and why.

Target Audience

EXPRESSION

Creative that is cohesive.

Once the Foundation and Alignment pillars were in place, the team built a Creative Toolkit that established guardrails for imagery, copy tone, and storytelling. Creative decisions stopped being subjective and became strategic.

EXPRESSION

Website transformation from informational to emotional.

Wequassett’s website told guests where the hotel was, not why it mattered. Photography was attractive but emotionally flat. It was functional and information, but missing the narrative journey for different audiences. Once Foundation and Alignment were in place, creative decisions became strategic, and the website was rebuilt to make guests feel, not just fact-check.

Immersion

When everyday moments become signature rituals.

The gap wasn’t about having activities, it was about whether guests would remember them. LotusIQ helped the team ensure programming reflected the hotel’s personality, sense of place, and promise. An example: s’mores reimagined as chef-curated, seasonally tied luxury ritual, rather than a generic resort amenity.

Outreach

The centennial campaign as a platform, not a moment in time.

Wequassett’s 100th anniversary could have been a celebration announcement. With LotusIQ in place, it became a brand platform — amplifying the story of who they were to the right audiences, through the right partners, for the years that followed.

“Outreach works best when it doesn’t introduce new ideas — it amplifies what’s already true.”

 — LotusIQ, Chapter 9

Outreach

Strategic partnerships aligned activations to identity.

Every partnership became a proof point for the brand — not just a co-marketing opportunity. The PR agency was guided by the same foundation that guided everything else, resulting in award-worthy visibility.

  • PR Agency Alignment

The Central Insight: Wequassett Resort and Golf Club

What changed when the sequence was right.

Wequassett had strong assets (photography, partnerships, programming) but without a shared foundation and commercial alignment, those assets weren’t working together. LotusIQ gave them a sequence and a roadmap to maximize impact.

Before LotusIQ

  • Assets existed independently
  • No shared brand narrative
  • Emotionally flat messaging
  • Activity without strategy

AFTER LotusIQ

  • One coherent brand story
  • Commercial goals defined
  • Creative grounded in identity
  • Award-winning outcomes

The Guest ResPonse

What guests said.

A brand that’s consistently expressed and tangibly felt-earns trust.  These reviews are proof.
